About Kate

Kate Lanxner is an experienced art educator, artist, and illustrator with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, where she co-majored in Art Education and Printmaking. Her professional background includes teaching painting, drawing, printmaking, and creative expression, as well as developing enrichment programs that support children's creativity and mindfulness.

Kate has taught students of a wide range of ages and backgrounds, including children on the autism spectrum and international students transitioning into American schools. While working in two Vermont public schools, she developed specialized curricula for students from Quebec and the Congo to support their transition into the American educational system. She has also taught French and art enrichment to preschool students in a Reggio Emilia-inspired private school and has a long-standing appreciation for Waldorf education.

As a practicing artist, Kate has exhibited her work internationally and spent 18 months studying printmaking in Paris at an international printmaking studio. She continues to work on illustration projects, with a particular love for ink drawing and watercolor, and is currently developing custom greeting card and linocut printmaking projects.

Kate believes every student has unique creative potential and strives to help children discover their individual strengths, build confidence, and bring their creativity to life through hands-on artistic exploration. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys traveling, making art, and exploring new creative practices.
