TEAM MEMBER

Hayley currently works for Virginia Literacy Partnerships (VLP) at the University of Virginia. She supports the implementation of the Virginia Literacy Act, the development of language and literacy screening tools, and provides professional outreach and development opportunities to school divisions across Virginia. 

Prior to beginning her work with the Center for Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning at UVA, Hayley was a classroom teacher and reading specialist/coach, working with students in grades K-8 in northern Virginia. She received her reading specialist certification from the University of Virginia in 2019.

Hayley believes that tutoring and educational experiences should be designed to empower students. She is passionate about the science of reading and ensuring all students are supplied with the literacy skills that are essential to lifelong learning and success.

In her free time, Hayley enjoys spending time with her two young kids, taking ballet classes, and going on hikes throughout the region.
