About Eve Maryn
During her time in Arizona public schools, Eve attended a Science of Reading training by Eve is currently a language arts and math tutor for elementary aged students and is passionate about the use of structured literacy and the use of explicit and systematic phonics programs to help all students feel more successful and confident in their reading and writing.
Eve earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland and her Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She has seven years experience teaching kindergarten in Arizona public schools where she primarily taught English language learners and helped them grow in the areas of oral language, reading, grammar, and listening. She also has over ten years of tutoring experience teaching reading and math for grades k-8 in both 1:1 and small group settings. Eve is currently certified in Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 3) in the state of Virginia and has completed Orton Gillingham's 30 hour training through the Institute for Multi Sensory Education.
Eve is a Seesaw Ambassador and loves finding ways to integrate interactive technology into her daily teaching to help her students become more engaged in their learning.
Eve currently resides in Alexandria with her small black cat, Shadow. In her spare time, she loves to read (Jodi Picoult is her favorite author) and watch her favorite movies (she loves all things Harry Potter). She also loves to spend as much time as she can with her niece, Addy.
