TEAM MEMBER

Deanna is a highly experienced educator who has been teaching since 1992, working with students from preschool through adulthood. She holds a Virginia Graduate Professional Teaching License with endorsements in Elementary Education (K–6) and Secondary English. Deanna has a BA in English from James Madison University and a Master’s in Education from Grand Canyon University.

Deanna specializes in reading and writing instruction, with additional experience teaching creative writing, film study, and photojournalism. She is known for building strong, supportive relationships with both students and families—an approach that helps students grow in confidence, believe in their abilities, and achieve meaningful academic success.

Before focusing on teaching, Deanna spent many years as a competitive soccer player and professional coach, bringing that same energy, discipline, and encouragement into her work with students today. Her goal is simple: to help each student become their best self, both in and out of the classroom.
