Oct. 15th: Your Child on the Page Essay Writing Workshop (Virtual)
A Virtual Parent Workshop for School Application Essays
Available spots
Service Description
How do you capture your child in just a few hundred words? In this 60-minute virtual workshop, Amore educational consultant and writing coach Abby Maslin helps parents understand what schools hope to learn through application essays and how to create a clear, authentic picture of their child. We’ll unpack common application questions, discuss which responses deserve the most time and attention, and explore how to highlight a child’s strengths while thoughtfully addressing challenges. We’ll also compare weak and strong responses and practice moving from generic descriptions to specific, memorable details that create a consistent profile across an application. Parents of younger applicants will learn how to describe a child whose personality and interests are still emerging, while parents of middle and high school applicants will learn how to support their child’s writing without taking over their voice. Thursday, October 15th, 7-8pm All registered families will have access to the video recording for 30 days, even if they can’t attend the live workshop.
