Service Description
Calling all budding songwriters and storytellers! In Lyric Lovers, students dive into the art of songwriting—merging words, rhythm, and emotion to create musical magic. Did you know that Grammy-winning artist Laufey is a proud alum of Horace Mann? Within the walls of these very classrooms, Laufey and her twin sister Junia built big dreams and even bigger talent. Inspired by artists like Laufey, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and other icons known for their poetic lyrics, students will learn how to write a song that sticks in your head and your heart. Through guided listening, creative writing exercises, and a bit of music theory, they’ll experiment with rhyme, imagery, and storytelling to craft original self-expressive lyrics. By the end of the course, every student will have a mini “album” of their own songs—and a deeper appreciation for the stories behind the music they love. A portion of the profit from this class will be donated to The Laufey Foundation.
