Service Description
Does your child have a flair for the dramatic? In this interactive course, we’ll explore the art of acting, teaching young performers how to channel their creativity and confidence on stage. Through improv games, they’ll sharpen quick-thinking and teamwork skills, while script reading and writing introduce storytelling and character development. Students will learn foundational acting techniques, including voice projection, body language, stage presence, and the basics of theatrical design, empowering them to bring characters to life. Whether your child is new to acting or has performed before, returning actors will fit right in and continue to grow in their acting abilities. The course will culminate in a special classroom performance where families can celebrate their young performers. The cost of this course includes a $35 per student fee charged by DCPS to use classroom space for the semester. It also includes materials (and heaps of fun!).
