About Azaria Whitaker-Bryant

As a teacher and tutor, Azaria’s primary focus is to build a strong foundation in early literacy and critical thinking skills. She tailors instruction to meet each child’s unique learning needs, using engaging, hands-on activities to reinforce phonics, reading comprehension, and writing. Additionally, she prioritizes fostering confidence, independence, and a love for learning, ensuring that students develop the skills necessary for future academic success.

Azaria holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology with a focus on Early Childhood Development and a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. With eight years of experience working with children, she is passionate about not only teaching but also inspiring young learners to believe in their potential. She began her career as a Pre-K daycare teacher while pursuing her bachelor’s degree. During her master’s program, she worked for DCPS as a resident SPED teacher in a self-contained classroom. Following her residency, she became a first-grade inclusive teacher at a charter school in Washington, D.C.

Azaria believes that every child is capable of learning and thriving when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. As a 1st-grade inclusive teacher, her philosophy is rooted in creating a nurturing and equitable classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered.

Beyond the classroom, Azaria cherishes spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoys weekend outings with her children, creating lasting memories and fostering a strong family bond.
