Photography Camp (ages 8-12) is the perfect introduction to the art of photography for young creatives! Throughout the week, campers will explore the fundamentals of photography, starting with a look at the photographic greats and how cameras work, including hands-on practice. On Day 1, they'll head outside for a nature scavenger hunt, capturing trees, leaves, and flowers through their lens. On Day 2, the focus shifts to photo composition, as campers learn framing techniques and begin applying them to their own photos. Day 3 dives into lighting and color, exploring the difference between natural and artificial light, and how to play with shadows and reflections. On Day 4, campers will explore storytelling through photography—using emotion, action, and sequencing. Finally, on Day 5, they’ll learn simple editing tools like cropping, adjusting brightness, and using filters, wrapping up the week by selecting their favorite photos to share at home. By the end of the camp, each student will have a small portfolio of meaningful images. Joe Goldberg’s photography journey began early, with his work featured in Outside Magazine at just 13 years old. He later toured the U.S. as an official photographer for a best-selling musician, capturing behind-the-scenes moments that shaped his narrative style. Joe’s work—defined by curiosity, empathy, and an eye for authentic human expression—has appeared in national campaigns for lifestyle brands, travel companies, and cultural institutions. As an educator, he shares both technical expertise and creative insight, helping students explore composition, storytelling, and their own unique vision.
