Oct. 22: Your Child on the Page Essay Writing Workshop (In-Person)

Service Description

In this 75-minute, in-person workshop, Amore educational consultant and writing coach Abby Maslin helps parents understand what schools hope to learn through application essays and how to create a clear, authentic picture of their child. With a printed Application Workbook to guide them, parents will work through common questions, identify which responses deserve the most attention, and practice turning generic descriptions into specific, memorable details. We'll compare weak and strong examples and offer personalized guidance as parents develop a consistent picture of their child across the application. Parents of younger applicants will learn how to describe a child whose personality and interests are still emerging, while parents of middle and high school applicants will learn how to support their child’s writing without taking over their voice.
